About our Full Day Trips / Excursions

Notice: Details of included services can be found in the relevant tabs on the specific activity page.

The exact duration of activities is listed on the Trip/Activity details page (the term “half day” is used in contrast to “full day”).
The activities are led by local expert guides, or in cooperation with local NGOs with whom we have a long-term relationship, or by younger local guides whom we have provided specific training.
During the activities, we typically provide mineral water and snacks.
A taxi service to the activity location may be selected during the checkout process.
For some activities, providing a ride to your local guide may be appreciated.

Booking: book a few days in advance to ensure boat availability.
Safety Guidelines: always listen to the captain and follow all safety instructions.
The boat tour may be aborted for security reasons at the sole discretion of the captain.
Weather Conditions: boat tours may be postponed or canceled due to weather. In such cases, a replacement solution or reimbursement will be offered.
Advice before the Tour: avoid a heavy breakfast on the morning of the activity. Refrain from heavy drinking the night before.
During the Boat Tour: stay hydrated by drinking water often. We provide mineral water and snacks, nevertheless it is recommended to bring extra water.
Wear a hat and apply sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
Comfort: there are no changing rooms; please wear your swimsuit in advance.
Bring a towel and a light-colored shirt (for UV). As you embark at the beach, your feet may get wet…

Most Excursions and Activities are based on 2 adults minimum (or 1 adult and 2 children/adolescents)
Most Boat Tours are based on 3 adults.
We offer discount for Adolescents and Children (see during check out process).
Children under 6 years old benefit from a symbolic price (for infant seat, please request in advance).
Backpackers, Single Travelers and Families who want to benefit from a special price are welcome to contact us.
Excursions for single travelers, we can offer a 10% discount ; in this case we take an entry level vehicle (instead of mid-range).
We invite cruiseship travelers to contact us early in advance as the island quickly runs in shortage of English speaking guides and minibuses with AC…

Departure is usually between 8:45 and 9:00 am from the Capital São Tomé city.
Return before 17:30 or sunset at the hotel (to avoid night driving).
Exceptions depend on the route. We depart at 8h15 for the Rolas Island excursion.
For early departures or late returns, please contact us in advance to confirm service availability. Without prior confirmation, an additional fee of 8 euros per extra hour will apply for the guide or driver.
Drop of in the South (hotel in Porto Alegre) is free of charge as long as your guide has enough time to return to the capital on time.

Most Excursions do not include the lunch/ meal (except for Rolas Island, Gastronomy Road and some thematic routes).
Most touristic restaurants will offer the meal to the guides at no extra cost. Just confirm upon arrival.
For single traveler, a symbolic fee may be charged for the meal of the guide, or 50% of its cost. Each restaurant has its policy, ask your guide to confirm upon arrival.
On most routes we offer the possibility to book restaurants in advance (see during the check out process)
Guides must have time to enjoy food and rest time (minimum 30 mn) during a full day excursion. This is also a matter of security as he is your driver…

Our Full Day Excursions typically depart from the Capital, São Tomé city.
We offer taxi Services for most Activities inside and outside the Capital (see during check-out).
Departure from a place outside Agua Grande district may require extra cost (i.e North Road Excursion with departure from Santana..). There is no extra cost if the departure location is on the itinerary.
We offer drop-off option to another location at no extra cost, as long as it is on the selected itinerary.

You can enhance your Full Day Excursions with extra activities (see during check out).
When integrated to an excursion, the activities benefit from a 10% to 20% discount.
