Your journey begins at Bela Vista Plantation, where you’ll walk among buildings rich in history and admire the preserved colonial-era architecture. Continue to Agostinho Neto Plantation, once the largest plantation in São Tomé, where you will see the iconic paved avenue and the former hospital building.

Learn the Cocoa Story: From Bean to Chocolate

Visit a working cocoa plantation to understand each step of cocoa production. You will see the cocoa nursery, the harvesting of ripe pods, the fermentation stage where flavor develops, and the drying and bagging process that prepares the beans for chocolate making.

Lunch with a View

Enjoy a traditional lunch at Roça Monte Forte, with a beautiful view of the sea (if not available we will have lunch at Mucumbli Ecolodge)

Optional Stop: Blue Lagoon

If time allows, stop at the Blue Lagoon to enjoy the calm and clear turquoise waters.

Chocolate Tasting at Diogo Vaz

Finish your day at the Diogo Vaz Chocolate Shop, where you can enjoy a coffee and taste locally crafted chocolates, made from premium São Tomé cocoa.

Drive by the biggest plantation, its famous paved avenue and its former iconic hospital.

VISIT OF A PLANTATION

Learn about every stage of the cocoa transformation process, from the cocoa pod to dry beans. (depending on availability, the visit will take place at Francisco Cabral plantation, Diogo Vaz plantation or at the CECAB Cooperative)
