Journey to Porto Alegre

Your day begins with a scenic drive from the capital to Porto Alegre, passing some of São Tomé’s most breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, admire the dramatic Mouth of Hell and the impressive Big Dog Peak. Pause for a delightful coffee break at Roça São João das Angolares, immersing yourself in the island’s rich coffee culture before continuing to the boat transfer.

Boat Ride to Rolas Island

From Porto Alegre, take a short boat ride to Rolas Island, also known as Turtledove Island. This 2.5-square-kilometer paradise welcomes you with warm hospitality and sprawling coconut plantations. Join a guided walk to the iconic “Center of the World” landmark, where latitude 0º and longitude 0º meet—a truly unforgettable moment in this remote corner of the globe.

Explore Rolas Island Beaches

Next, choose your adventure: head straight to Coffee Beach or hike to the famous Bateria Beach. Marvel at the natural geyser, enjoy breathtaking views, and, conditions permitting, take a refreshing swim in the clear waters.

Make a short stop at this famous spot!
Optional, especially if you already stopped there
during the East Coast Road or the Gastronomy Excursion.

SHORT BREAK FOR A COFFEE

Stop at São João das Angolares to indulge
in a coffee break before hitting the second half
of the south road !

BIG DOG PEAK

Take photographs of the iconic phonolitic chimney!

PORTO ALEGRE

Reach the southernmost fishermen village
in São Tomé and get your boat transfer
to Rolas Island !

BOAT TRANSFER

Embark on a converted fishermen boat to reach
the famous Rolas Island. The duration of the ride is
approximately 20 minutes, subject to weather
and ocean conditions

REACH ROLAS ISLAND

Also known as "Turtledove Island," it spans barely 2.5 km². If you feel up to it, you can hike around the entire island!

CENTER OR THE WORLD

Hike a gently ascending slope for about 15 mn
to reach the famous spot... 0º longitude and 0º latitude..

BATERIA BEACH

An optional hike to an also iconic beach...
If you feel like it, preferably before lunch !

FISHERMEN LUNCH

Savor freshly grilled fish for lunch at the
picturesque Coffee Beach!
(Unless you prefer to enjoy lunch and boat transfer at Inhame Resort, see option during the check out process)

CHILL, SWIM, RELAX

Enjoy some relaxing time at Coffee beach !

TRANSFER BACK

Return to Porto Alegre and enjoy a drive
before reaching your hotel.

END OF THE EXCURSION

Transfer back to your hotel.
